The Simple Life

You know how there are those annoying people that believe that everyone has a soul mate on this earth?

I'm one of them. Go ahead and roll your eyes.

But, I am also much more than that.
-A sister, a daughter and a best friend.
-A very proud owner of the most ridiculous Min-Pin, Eli.
-A Christian.
-A Taylor Swift fanatic; go head and roll your eyes, again.
-An insane, neurotic nursing school student 90% 99% of the time.
-A lover of birds, anything pumpkin, DIY projects and monograms.
-A Starbucks addict.
-Always trying to make someone laugh.
-A girl who ALWAYS has her foot in her mouth. Seriously, talk to me for about 5 minutes and I am sure I will accidentally insult you.
-A nanny to the sweetest 3 year old boys you will ever meet!
-Type-A personality at its finest- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

I wake up each day with the goal of making the best of what is thrown my way while trying to look half-way confident. I'm not perfect. Yet, I am perfectly happy in my simple life full of love, laughter and mistakes (we have to learn somehow, right?).

In the past year, I have come two semesters closer to obtaining my RN degree, married the love of my life, experienced great loss and watched many of my friends experience their own happiness with new marriages and newborns.  Sounds pretty normal; but, that is what I cherish about life.  The simplicity of it all.  Spending time with the ones you love, working hard to make your dreams come true, laughing so hard you cry, 30 second dance parties, finishing your best friend's sentences, having a shoulder to cry on, buying yourself something new just because, helping a stranger, holding hands with your husband, going to church on Sunday, trying a new recipe, hearing "I love you"... these are the things that make my heart go pitter-patter, the simple things.

This blog will be an update to our friends near and far, a place to share yummy recipes and amazing DIY projects, home decor ideas, things I am currently loving, and stories of the inevitable awkward moments that seem to follow me (If you know me, you know what I am talking about).

This blog will be everything that occurs in our simple life and I  can't wait to start sharing our blessed Carolina Nest.

xoxo, Amy
